Syrena CCYT, RYT

Syrena had many physical pains from an accident two years prior. The list of problems was long, and the pain started at the top of her head with headaches down her neck, spine, legs into her feet. She was on medication to make it through the day and more to sleep at night. Prior to the accident she was an active person, but in one moment, she now was a spectator and not a participant, one day feeling OK and the next back in bed. Her pain specialist thought her muscles were working against her.

After two years of Doctors, medication and holding on to faith as best she could and believing that there was a reason for it all, she finally cried out to God and asked for grace. The next thing that happened changed her life: She enrolled through the church for Yahweh Yoga class and went to her first yoga class ever. Two days later she enrolled at the studio. She found that yoga worked on the body’s strength and stretching in a very calming, private and non-competitive loving atmosphere. Now 7 months later, in a dream that could have only been inspired by God, she is an instructor with the desire to help others. Her classes are nurturing with compassion to help others in pain or with depression.

Elissa
CCYT, RYT

Elissa has always looked for a great exercise program that she not only liked, but also loved to do. Throughout her childhood and high school, Elissa loved to play soccer, but after school it became hard to stay active. In 2004, Elissa met her husband and became very active in hiking and biking, but didn't feel the same joy in using her body that she once had. Elissa discovered Yahweh Yoga and became instantly hooked. New to yoga, she quickly found it both enjoyable and doable. The bonus of her practice was the Christ centered atmosphere—she found the scripture, prayer and Christian music was an awesome new way to worship Christ and keep in good health. Ever since starting yoga, Elissa has dropped 30 pounds! Yahweh Yoga has kindled such a spiritual and physical fire that Elissa couldn't wait to be able to share with others. Together Elissa and her husband decided through prayer for her to become a teacher. Yahweh Yoga studio is where her new journey begins.
